Minutes in the Day

So I'm pretty sure that the majority of people have trouble saying what they really mean, much less saying what they're actually thinking. I find that as I meet with parents, teachers, students, employer's ... communication is a huge issue between people. Backgrounds, paradigms, religions, age gaps, races, demographics, locals... they all play a part whether you mean for them too or not. Today I dealt with a parent who makes around 8 thousand dollars a year... and another to whom 4 thousand was no big deal to spend on something he deemed "priceless". Both conversations were drastically different even though the dealt with the same exact subject matter. Along the same lines, I find that life gets a lot simpler when you refuse to be offended. People can be very insensitive and even right down stupid sometimes with their comments. I believe this stems from multiple sources. First of all is comes down to selfishness. Thinking about your own agenda, needs and perspective is the first problem when trying to understand, critique, or adapt to someone. Everyone can be stupid at different moments so its the wisest and happiest course of action to not judge and not be offended. Don't be deceived that it's not a choice to be offended. Its totally up to each of us to react to every word and action. No one can "make" you feel anything emotional without your choice. Just a few thoughts from the minutes in my day today.

So I decided to start a blog. Don't know why exactly but I just thought it would be a more personal avenue than facebook, and easier than snail mail for my family spread out across the world. I was never a diary type of person but I've always loved putting my thoughts down in words. I'm a ordinary woman who is super busy with work, church, marriage, and life in general. I love pictures and documenting memories. I also now find it concerning that "I" is in every former sentence I just wrote. But I guess thats what a blog is all about... my life, my thoughts. So here goes.
